Off to take my exam

I'm starving and in 3.5 hours I'll have my first and only exam for the day. When I get back I'm going to take a break from studying by working on the Raptor review a bit more, but then a good deal of the night will be spent studying.

So far the new 74GB Raptors are offering an appreciable performance improvement over the first generation Raptors, at least in raw disk performance but I have yet to see if that will translate into real world performance benefits. The drives are very quiet; the high pitched whine of the first generation Raptor drives is thankfully absent from these drives.

Derek's Image Quality article is finally up and I strongly suggest you all check it out. It explains a good deal of how 3D rendering works from an image quality perspective so that you may better understand how and why there are differences in images rendered on ATI and NVIDIA cards.
